The Sacred Heart Retreat Center is housed in a historic former friary—originally the St. Francis Friary—built in the 1930s then expanded in the 1950s on a beautiful nearly‐100-acre property in Burlington, Wisconsin. In 2023, the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest purchased the property, with the vision of restoring it to its spiritual purpose: to be a place where silence, prayer, and encounter with God may flourish. Phase I of the renovation — an expanded $6.8 million project has transformed the north and center cross wings with clergy suites, refectory, reception area, gathering spaces, office space, guest lodging (with private baths), and a chapel (still undergoing construction). The Stations of the Cross were repaired, and the woodland paths were reopened with a new bathhouse for summer youth camps. The retreat center now offers scheduled silent guided retreats for men and women and other future events. The Gala will feature an array of exciting experiences, including silent auction baskets, raffle prizes, a spirited live auction, and much more to make the evening truly memorable.
